The promised land of great games

What is in common between Angry Birds, Clash of Clans, Empires & Puzzles, and Boom Beach? They are all games developed in Finland, and companies behind them are all unicorns, exited to Japanese, Chinese and American corporations. In EBAN Helsinki 2019, we want to share some of the best practices from the land of great games. Because hey - what would a Finnish Investor Conference be without talk of games?

Finland is known for famous games. Like, who hasn’t tried throwing red birds with pigs? Yet most angel investors are cautious about investing in games, as many feel it's too hard to tell which game will succeed or not and feel like they don't have enough expertise in the industry. Gaming isn't for the risk averse investors, that's for sure. The industry is highly competitive and the majority of the games never make it out of the ball park. Yet, for those on board that one game that strikes it hard - there's a home run with a big multiple in store.

EBAN Helsinki has gaming covered from both the entrepreneurs and angel investors point of view. We will have a panel on "Industries to invest in", in this panel, we'll have business angel Mika Reini, FiBAN's key go-to-gaming guy, explaining why he invests into games, what he looks at and why you should too.
